Samson was originally born as a farm cat called 'Tigger' and had at least three homes before choosing to live with Angela. She had seen him around the area on many occasions but wasn't sure who he belonged to or whether he had a home. He was frequently in her garden. One day, he appeared at Angela's door with a badly swollen eye. She took him to the vet and was told to keep him indoors for two weeks. Twelve years later they are still together! 

A strikingly handsome tabby, Samson soon became Angela's favourite model.

In 2006, aged 15, Samson beat off lots of younger competition and won a bronze medal and silver bowl award in an international competition to find the world's cutest pet.  This brought him local stardom, and later in the same year, he starred in Angela's first picture book, "The Adventures of Sailor Sam."

Samson's main interests are sunbathing in the garden, playing the piano and chasing his tail.  He is an extremely talkative cat and always gets the last word.

Samson celebrated his 17th birthday on 31st October with the release of a second book, "Sailor Sam and the Two Sicknesses"
